Demurrage

Demurrage and Detention charges are to be applied to all loads for which the import or export free time has been exceeded.

Demurrage : Demurrage is applied to all containers that remain at the terminal beyond the number of free days. This charge is due and shall be billed whenever the customer keeps AEL or EOLIS equipment in the terminal beyond the period of free time agreed.

Détention : Detention charges are applied to all AEL and EOLIS containers kept by the customer away from the terminal beyond the period of free time agreed. They shall be billed until the date the container is returned in good condition to the agreed terminal.

Demurrage and Detention free time, tariffs and terms and conditions vary according to the country.

Storage:  Storage is a fee charged on any container that is not moved from the storage space/terminal when preparing to be loaded onboard a truck or a vessel.
